Hello, beautiful people!
This is a very special week, and I’m thrilled to kick it off with you! It’s Read Across America Week—an amazing time when we band together to lift up our books and, more importantly, lift up each other through the power of reading.
Why do we do this? Because literacy isn’t just about getting through a novel; it’s a crucial skill that opens doors to opportunities and bridges gaps across our communities. Did you know over 40% of adults struggle with basic literacy tasks? That's why our commitments in this area need to be stronger than ever.
As an educator and a mother, I've seen firsthand how critical community involvement is in nurturing a love for reading among children and adults alike. Whether it's local book readings at the library or storytelling sessions in the park, every bit counts.
And speaking of community efforts, let me introduce you to Let's Get L.I.T., an initiative close to my heart that's working tirelessly to make literacy accessible to everyone. We’ve got some fantastic events lined up this week that are not just fun but are stepping stones to building better readers.

So, what can you do? Join in local Read Across America events, volunteer at reading sessions, or simply share your favorite book with someone young or old. Every story shared is a seed planted in the garden of knowledge.
Let's turn the page together on literacy. Help us write a story of success and empowerment!
Remember, every book opened is a new adventure. Let's embark on this literary journey together.
With love and optimism,
Clianda
